Discipleship and Training for the Shingon Priesthood STUDY COURSE AT KOYASAN Each year Koyasan conducts a training program, for one week, to train a person in the various aspects of the Rituals. This is not considered as training but to ensure that the Disciple knows how to: Recite sutras Perform chanting with tune (J: Shomyou) Perform ritual Knows Shingon Theory and History Knows basic Sanskrit At the end of this training a pretest is given to ensure that the Disciple is prepared to receive Abisheka.
